TriFit nutrition coaching allows you to meet with a registered dietitian (RD) and create an individualized nutrition program tailored to your unique training and lifestyle needs.

Jeff Rothschild, MS, RD, CSCS, USAW, brings a diverse background in sports and nutrition to TriFit’s nutrition coaching services. He extends TriFit’s belief in an individualized approach to coaching, which allows everyone from elite athletes to sedentary individuals to get the most out of coaching sessions, optimize nutrition plans to fit their own needs, and create the greatest and longest-lasting positive changes.

FOR GENERAL HEALTH

The modern lifestyle involves a lot of sitting, take-out food, and long hours at work. It’s no secret that inactive lifestyles are associated with an increased risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. However, recent research suggests that even one hour of daily physical exercise cannot compensate the negative effects of inactivity if the rest of the day is spent sitting. This highlights the need for a smart nutrition plan. TriFit’s registered dietitian (RD) can help you maintain or achieve a healthy body weight and lifestyle in a sustainable way, without feeling hungry or starving yourself.

In a session with the RD, you will learn:

  • How to customize your diet to meet your individual needs within the context of your lifestyle
  • How to make smart food choices while you’re at work or away from home
  • How to eat enough to stay full while still maintaining an ideal weight; eating healthy doesn’t mean living on water and lettuce!
  • The difference between ‘good’ calories and ‘bad’ calories
  • How to optimize fat burning
  • How to know if you’re eating enough, or too much, food each day
  • How to optimize your sleep

Elite fitness is built upon gaining that extra 1-2% advantage over the competition, wherever the athlete can find it. Many athletes understand the basics of nutrition, but the help of a nutrition expert can provide that extra competitive edge.

A session with the RD can help you learn you how to apply advanced concepts in sports nutrition such as:

  • Periodized nutrition plans
  • Fueling to optimize recovery, training, and competition needs
  • What metabolic efficiency is and how to improve it
  • If fasted training is appropriate for you and how to implement it

More About Jeff

Jeff Rothschild, MS, RD, CSCS, USAW, a registered dietitian (RD) with a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science, he is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and USA Weightlifting Level 1 sports performance coach. Jeff brings a diverse background in sports and nutrition to TriFit’s nutrition services. Jeff has had multiple scientific research papers published in peer-reviewed nutrition journals, and has been the assistant coach of the nationally ranked tennis team at Cal State LA for the past four years. Jeff extends TriFit’s belief in an individualized approach to nutrition which allows everyone from elite athletes to sedentary individuals optimize nutrition to fit their specific needs and create positive lifetime changes. Jeff’s plans are not only for performance and weight loss but to also maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Jeff has co-authored multiple scientific research papers that have been published in peer-reviewed nutrition and food science journals, and has presented his research at national nutrition conferences. His areas of interest are sports nutrition, meal timing, and circadian rhythms. En route to becoming an RD, Jeff completed his clinical nutrition internship at the prestigious Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. In addition, he has been the assistant tennis coach at CSU Los Angeles for four years, helping the Golden Eagles earn national Top-25 rankings each of those years. In 2013 he was named the Assistant Coach of the Year for the West Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Beyond nutrition and coaching, Jeff has competed as a cyclist and continues to play competitive tennis.
